Looking
through my old club magazines of the Austrian "Club G7000
Videospiele", I stumbled upon a cartridge that is not mentioned
elsewhere in magazines or the internet. Here is the information,
translated from German into English: "Videopac
is not only for playing
Help for people who cannot talk
People who almost cannot move due to an accident or paralysis, often
do not even have the ability to make them understood by lip or sign
language. But if they have the ability to move at least one
single finger, they now can communicate via screen. Philips has
invented something especially for their problem.
The Linguaduc cartridge, which plays on every Philips
Videopac G7000.
With a special device, the Carba Linguaduc Detector, a text with a
length up to 123 characters can be entered and displayed on the TV
screen. To draw the someone's attention to the screen, additionally
an acoustic signal sounds.
Linguaduc was developed to help many handicaped,
mute people, because the possibility to communicate quick and
unmistakable is often vital for them."
This might be a special version of
Videopac A "Newscaster" with a special Linguaduc Detector.
Regarding to the text, at least prototypes should have existed, but
I don't know anyone who owns one.
